Help
with Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player by Microsoft is a popular Streaming Media
Player because it ships with Windows and is usually factory installed
by the PC Manufacturers.
If you are having problems viewing content with Windows Media Player,
please check the following circumstances.
Make sure you have the latest version of the Player installed.
You can visit Microsoft,
here, to check what the latest version is.
Make sure you are not behind a firewall that is restricting access
to Streaming content. Many companies and colleges are now restricting
access to some kinds of Internet content, usually for the purpose
of alleviating bandwidth concerns. If you are interested in an event
and your Network is blocked from receiving Streaming Media Content,
then make sure to arrange in advance access through your Network
Administrator.
Finally, you may find in some cases you may have success if you
set your "Protocol" to be used under the "Network"
settings in the "Options" panel of Windows Media Player
to TCP only. "Options" can be found under tools. I am
referring to Windows Media Player 7, Windows Media Players 8 and
9 have slightly different names for the same settings.
